badland, n.  a region marked by intricate erosional sculpturing, scanty vegetation, and fantastically formed hills.

BADLANDS is a series of altered landscapes inspired by the surreal views and fantastical geologic formations I encountered in the wilderness of northwestern New Mexico. Intrigued by this enigmatic place, I read the landscape as a text of ancient narratives. By exposing diverse image layers, I have revealed strange parallel worlds beneath the seemingly impenetrable rocky surfaces.
